We have had some really funny things happen this Christmas. One thing that happened Christmas day was when my husband noticed that the toilet was clogged, you know down in the pipes somewhere, he decided that he could fix it. So for a Christmas present last year he gave me this drain unclogger that i was suppose to use when I clogged the kitchen drain when I used the garbage disposal. (Such a romantic present, I know.) It has little CO2 cartridges that fit into this contraption and it comes with a splash guard. Hmmmm, right there was enough to scare me to never use the thing.
Now, my husband truly is very handy around the house. He can fix anything and fix it really well. This Christmas day, for some reason was not one of the times. As he was wondering how to make this unclogger work he set off the CO2 cartridge and had forgotten to put the splash guard on. HA Ha. Need I say more? Toilet water covered the entire bathroom! He would of gotten some on his face if he hadn't had his mouth open!! Whew that was close.
He cleaned up the water (thank goodness it was only water) with a towel and hung the towel up on a rack. He didn't throw it in with the dirty clothes so you can imagine how our son felt later that day when he realized that the towel he had used after his shower was the toilet water towel! Funny times at our house.

What? Christmas Moons....huh?
Yes, it has been that long since I've posted anything. It has been so long that I'm ashamed to say that I forgot my password. HA. Thankfully after several tries it came back to me! Whew! No Alzheimer's yet.
I just really wanted to post something about our Christmas this year from my point of view before my son gives his version of it. I'll just tell you right now that it was amazingly fun at times.
Okay, we have traditions, silly but fun ones that my kids insist that we do every year. (My kids ages range from 18 - 24ish.)
On Christmas Eve we always get together for dinner and the infamous Scavenger hunt..... Yes, I'm in charge of this one. If you are familiar with me at all you know that writing poetry is not a talent I have. But I really feel like I need to rhyme all the clues. Knowing my lack of ability in rhyming one would think I would start at least a few days before but no, year after year I find myself at about 3 in the afternoon frantically trying to come up with clues. Such as,
There's a "special" tradition at our house ya know.
It happens the Eve before Santa comes Ho, ho ho!
I then proceed to make up a clue that would rhyme. I decided that this year I would make the clues really tough so that it would take them more than the 15 minutes to find the treasure. The first clue went something like - To start this fun, get your shoes for the run, cause the first clue is hidden behind the sun! Wahoo. I know, I know. Dumb. BUT, the next clue was surely going to get them. It went like this - "Okey, Dokey Little Smokey's! You're sure to find more
for the next clue is around the scary neighbors front door!" HA! I would pay money to see their faces again.
We have a neighbor that is little "odd" (many long stories that I'll save you from) he gives the kids the creeps. So I snuck over to his house (Ok, I know, who sounds odd now) I put the clue under his door mat. When my kids read this they rolled their eyes but were good sports and made their way to his house. I watched out the front window loving every minute of it!
To my surprise I noticed that my kids were lined up on our driveway. I noticed the camera propped and thought how sweet, they are taking a picture for me! Then as I took a closer look I saw three BARE BUTTS!!!! I screamed! "Those little _ _ _ _ _! Kurt! come and see what your kids are doing!! There's some Christmas Moons out here!" After I Picked my jaw up from off the floor I stood there with a blank stare. I know I taught them better than that!!! Then it dawned on me, it's their dad's genes coming out in them. ;)
I was the one to get the last laugh as I watched them carefully make their way to "Scary Man's" house. As they were looking all over his porch who should be coming home right then? Yes, Mr. Scare himself! I laughed and laughed as I watched them nonchalantly make their way back to our house.
I love my crazy kids. They made my Christmas this year. Next year I can't wait cause we'll be doing random acts of kindness especially for the Scarey neighbor.

Happy Birthday to ME!!!
Today is my favorite day of the year so far!! When I woke up this morning I stumbled into our family room where my husband and daughters had strung streamers and balloons all over the family room. Presents scattered over the coffee table. Love, love, loved it!! I started to get text messages, phone calls and friends dropping by all morning. My mother and sister drove down to spend most of the day with me.
My sweet neighbor and her little guy surprised me by hanging a poster on the front door annoucing to the world that it was my birthday. Which led to more phone calls and visits.
Two darling little neighbor girls, Abby 4 and her sister Michelle 2 made me a birthday cards each. Priceless. My husband and children took me to dinner. We made it home to have a birthday cake my husband ordered special just for me. Served with my favorite ice cream mint chocolate chip!! I counted and I heard from over 30 friends and family members. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day!

Slowly but Surely.........
Yup, slowly but surely I'll get the hang of this blog thing. I know it's not hard to do but need I say more?
Sundays, hmmmm, much more enjoyable when my church meetings don't start at 1 pm. Well, it does and so for now, I must suffer in silence. It's just that last hour trying to keep from bobbing in my seat. Whew.... I made it and now it's mad dash to enjoy every minute left of the day. I bee line it out of the church heading for my car hoping no one gets in my way. Husband stayed home from church today says he's not feeling well which makes it easier for me to leave without saying much to anyone. (I know that sounds terrible but when you're done with your meetings your done.)
Aaaaah, when I walked through the door into our home there it was a beautiful dinner laid out waiting for me. So sweet, he can be sick like that anytime!
